Lucky Number 7

For the next few days we're going to be hearing a lot of news stories about weddings taking place this weekend. For those of you who are superstitious, or following the wedding details of Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and her fiancé Tony Parker, you're well aware that this Saturday, July 7, 2007 has been labeled the luckiest wedding date of the century.
But is this date really lucky? 70,000 couples getting married on the 7th seem to think so. But does that mean couples that couldn’t book a hall are unlucky in love? My thought…not at all.
When choosing a wedding date think about the time of year you want to get married. Have you always dreamed of a winter wedding (Jan-Feb)? Do you want to get married outside (May-October)? Have you always loved the fall (Oct – Nov)? Or do you want to get married over the holiday season (Dec)?
Unless you have your heart set on a specific date, keep an open mind when meeting with locations and vendors.
Do you want to hire a specific vendor - florist, band/DJ, officiant, photographer, etc… - check with him or her first to make sure he or she is available on your date and then book the ceremony and reception space. Talk to your most important guests – parents, grandparents, siblings, and best friends – to make sure they are free on the date before putting down a deposit. You don’t want to book a hall and find out that dad has a convention out of town that he must attend.
If 7 isn't your lucky number, but 8 is, and you still haven’t picked a date, remember that August 8, 2008 (8-8-08) falls over a weekend.
Are you and your groom the superstitious types? You can make sure that the stars are aligned for you and your future hubby by visiting astrology.com for a horoscope reading about you and your relationship.

8-8-08 actually falls on a Friday! We already have friends with wedding plans for that day. Not quite as convenient for a Saturday, but oh well!
thanks!
