Bride Sues Florist For $400,000

Did you hear the one about the lawyer bride suing her florist?

A recent bride who says the flowers at her wedding were not what she expected is suing her New York City florist, Posy Floral Design, for $400,000. The lawsuit states that the flowers used in the centerpieces were the wrong color and cheap looking, and did not match the color and look she wanted for her wedding. She spent almost $30,000 on her wedding flowers. Click here to read the entire article.

I’m not sure what I think about this. On the one hand, if the wedding flowers were nothing like what they discussed and what was stipulated in the contract than then couple has a right to a refund. But to sue for more than 10 times the amount of money spent seems extreme and just plain greedy.

What do you think? Does this story give brides a bad name, or is she right to sue for damages? Would you sue your wedding vendor?

She probably is a new lawyer, and needs to log in some practice.
Clearly, she deserves a refund on the flowers. I might argue that she's entitled to the cost or partial cost of photography as well. Obviously, she did not get the look she wanted, and that will be reflected in many of the photos as well. I can also see just being terribly disappointed. If she spent $30k on flowers alone, that was a pretty expensive affair not to turn out like you wanted.
On the other hand; she's just letting all her memories of her wedding be ruined over flower color. It's not worth it.

If she spent $30,000 on her flowers alone, she probably is sueing for the total cost of her wedding.

I think the amount is overkill. On the other hand though, if she spent $30,000 on the flowers just think what the whole affair must have cost! I can see how she would expect to be compensated.
