So you want to write your own vows, but can’t seem to put your feelings into words. Not a problem. Wordsmith Lindsay Rolfson, opened Perfectly Noted, to help couples find exactly the right words to say.
For over a year, Lindsay has been helping couples – or you can go solo and surprise your groom - say the words they feel from the bottom of their heart. Prices start at around $75 and the process takes 2-3 sessions with Lindsay through e-mails and phone calls. You can save 10% by going as a couple, and can work together or separately and surprise each other on your wedding day.
Perfectly Noted can also help you write toasts – so send their information to your best man, maid-of-honor and dad if they need the help.
Are you planning on writing your own wedding vows?
We are writing our own vows, but I'm not doing it for the reason listed above - personally I would have been fine with the traditional vows, though I am not opposed to writing my own. The reason we are writing our own vows is that it's very important to my fiance to write them ourselves. That man has been so wonderful throughout the wedding planning process, helping me whenever I need a hand but letting me have whatever flowers and colours and cake that I want. He's barely insisted on anything, so I am very happy to oblige him with this one request! However if he hadn't wanted to write our own vows, I wouldn't have bothered. I'm very nervous to share such intimate words in front of a big crowd, but I will manage :)

I voted no, but not because we're too busy or too nervous - I've just never ever ever seen personalized vows that I didn't think were really cheesy. And I've been to a lot of weddings.

The best vows I ever saw were written by the couple's best friend who was officiating (a la Joey on Friends). They were so much more personal than every self-written vow I've ever heard and I have never seen so many people laugh and cry with joy at the same time. Most self-written vows sound exactly the same and are so cheesy!
I would go with the traditional ones, though with a touch of Wiccan vows. "Death does not part, only lack of love" is just so much more meaningful than "Til death do us part", I'd like to think death would never stand in the way of my love for my bf and vice-versa. There is just so much meaning in the original vows I don't know how even the best writers could top them.
