Year in Review: Celebrity Weddings

It’s the last week of 2007 can you believe it? Where did the time go? So I thought that I’d do a very short wrap up of star weddings of 2007 that you may want to turn to for inspiration while planning for your own big day.

Pamela Anderson wed Rick Salomon in Vegas – and yes, they served pigs-in-a-blanket at their wedding reception. Vegas weddings can be as wacky — an Elvis officiant — or as traditional as you want them to be – the romantic chapel at the Bellagio. If you don't think a Vegas wedding is your thing, you can always have your bachelorette party in Vegas and remember what they say: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Spiderman, Tobey Maguire, wed longtime love Jennifer Meyer in Hawaii earlier this year. The small wedding included family and close friends. Planning a destination for a large group can be tricky, and expensive. If you’re thinking of having a destination wedding, you may want to consider limiting your guest list, and then have a big bash with all of your friends and extended family when you get back home.

Eva-Longoria-Tony-Parker-WE.jpg

Eva Longoria wed basketball superstar Tony Parker in a lavish wedding in France this summer. While not every bride can plan a fairy tale wedding in a real castle — Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte — you can use Mrs. Tony Parker’s ideas for inspiration for your own big day. Since it was a destination wedding, the couple planned several events in the area before the big day for their guests, including a boat ride on the Seine. If you're thinking of getting married in France or Italy, call Melissa at Chateau Weddings. Her boutique wedding planning company specializes in destination weddings in Europe.

Unfortunatley I don't have the budget to buy pictures from these star weddings to show you some of the details they had. (I think OK! paid a couple of million for the Longoria-Parker wedding.) But there are plenty of magazines and television shows that you can turn to for inspiration. Celeberity wedding magazine InStyle Weddings is a great resource for celeberity wedding inspiration. They offer you an inside look at the big budget affairs but then offer real world advice for the bride and groom on a budget. I think their next issue hits stands on December 28th.

Pamela Anderson is a proud vegetarian! I don't think she would ever served Pigs-in-a-Blanket at her wedding!

I read about her wedding on several websites, including OK! Magazine and they said that one of the foods served at their wedding was pigs-in-a-blanket. I promise I didn't make it up. It also said that, "Considering how avid an animal rights campaigner Pam is, it's not shocking that she didn't partake of this carnivore's delight."
