Day-Of Details
Over the past few years the Day-of Wedding Coordinator has become a popular option for brides looking to plan their wedding themselves but who want someone else to coordinate the details for the big day, as well as handle any problems that may arise.
While a day-of planner sounds as if the person is only working on your wedding day, their services will actual start a few weeks before the big day. He or she needs to coordinate delivery and set-up times with your vendors, get familiar with the space and plan a schedule for the day.
Day-of coordination can cost anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars depending on the experience of the planner and the amount of work involved – planning the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, assembling place cards and programs, overseeing the ceremony and reception timelines and details, etc.
Our friends over at Blue Orchid are giving away a Wedding Day Coordination package to one lucky couple in the U.S. The package includes creating a vendor production schedule and timelines for members of the wedding party, directing the rehearsal, coordinating schedules and final details with your vendors, overseeing the ceremony and reception as well as tying up any loose ends and details you may have overlooked.

If you’re getting married in the U.S. this year (2008) you can enter the contest by writing a 300-word or less entry on why you and your groom should win this fabulous package. Send your entry, a photo of the two of you and the details of your wedding – date, location – to Blue Orchid by January 31st. They’ll pick the top 3 entries and post them on their blog for their readers to vote for the deserving couple. The winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day.
If you’re not engaged, but know of a couple who should win this Wedding Day Coordination Package, surprise them by nominating them.
