If you’re still searching for the perfect invitation, and you live in Connecticut, you should definitely stop by stonington design+paperie’s atelier at The White Dress by The Shore in Clinton, CT tomorrow, Thursday, May 29th or Thursday, June 12th.

An open studio will be held from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. where you’ll be able to view their beautiful invitations, as well as get ideas on how your ideas can be brought to life on paper.

If you already have your invite, stonington design+paperie can help you create paper details for your wedding, including: programs, menu cards, seating and place cards, favor tags and coasters.

In addition to browsing paper ideas, they’ll also have champagne and sweet treats for you and your guest (mom, hubby-to-be, maid-of-honor) to enjoy.

To RSVP please contact rachel@stoningtonpaperie.com. Space is limited so please reply early to reserve your place on the date of your choice.

If you don’t live nearby, or can’t make the event, make sure to visit the stonington design+paperie Web site when you begin to shop for invitations and paper accessories.  Their modern designs are lovely.  My favorite are the fondue dessert tag and coasters.

Have fun!

I was at Barnes & Noble today doing some research for a story and decided to take a look at the wedding magazine section.  Next to Vermont Vows - which is one of my favorite magazines because even if you're not getting married in New England they have great images and ideas - there was a new magazine I had never seen before: WellWed New York - for brides planning a wedding in New York State.

Planning a wedding in Rockland and Duchess Counties as well as Saratoga have become quite popular, and WellWed is filled with recommendations for vendors across the state, as well as real wedding stories to inspire you.  Remember it's a good idea to flip through both national and regional wedding magazines

Want a sneak peek?  Check out their website WellWedMagazine.com.

If you’re looking to do a little more for Mother Earth on your wedding day, and you’ve already ordered recycled paper invitations and organically & local grown flowers for your arrangements, here’s another item to add to your eco-chic wedding.

Instead of reserving a limo or Rolls Royce for your trip from the church to the reception, put an eco-friendly car on hold. Commonwealth Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation is now offering environmentally-friendly hybrid cars to customers in Boston and New York.

If you’re not getting hitched in or nearby the northeast, call your local transportation company and ask if they have any hybrids available with a chauffeur on your wedding day.

If not, you can always opt for a horse and carriage or a bicycle rickshaw which would be much better for the planet than any automobile.
